Backyard Bread Oven
Giving Tree Gardens is proud to work with Sarah Frances, natural cob builder extraordinaire. Sarah Frances uses natural cob style building to create enchantingly lovely well-functioning ovens and stoves. These primitive, elegant ovens are produced with ‘natural’ material called cob which is a combination of clay, sand, straw and water. Most people are familiar with the brick form of this material called adobe. Cob will yield visually stunning and highly functional bread/pizza ovens.

Here are three reasons you would love a Cob Pizza Oven in your backyard:
- Cob is a pleasure to make. For those of us who grew up peeling glue off our skin, there’s nothing quite like mixing cob with your feet. It’s also something that everyone from little kids to skeptical adults can do.
- In a world where plastic takes up a lot of space it feels great to build something using materials that could go straight back into the earth where they came from without causing a lick of harm.
- Pizza! Actually, pizza is just the beginning. These ovens are great for cooking everything from roast garlic to bread to Sunday pot-roast.
All that, and then there’s all your friends and neighbors who will gather around when they smell the steaming hot pizza and fresh bread. Whether you want backyard pizzas, or a naturally built community gathering place, Giving Tree Gardens and Sarah Frances the stove maker are only a click away.
